Q. What kind of hardware warranty comes with GPS Commander tracking devices?

A. All GPS Commander units come with a lifetime hardware warranty. We will repair or replace any defective unit at no charge upon receiving it at our facility. Click More Details for the fine print.

Q. Can GPS Commander devices be covertly installed?

A. Yes, our units are very small and some are available with fully integrated antennas. Therefore, they can be easily installed out of sight.

Q. What is not included in the warranty –what’s in the fine print?

A. Lifetime warranty means you are still our customer and current on your account with us. It means you didn’t take it into the shower with you, fry it, run over it or blow it up. (Warranty is void if it has been abused) We are not responsible if the wireless network makes it obsolete. Finally, you must pay shipping in both directions. We feel this is very reasonable, given the ultra low hardware cost.

Q. What is involved with installing GPS Commander devices?

A. Scout PT is simply downloaded to your phone over the air. Ranger CT, Rover TT and Explorer AT GPS tracking devices are very simple to install –we have install guides and are here to help. However, if you prefer professional installation, we will find a suitable installation facility close to you and provide installation training assistance to them.

Q. Is there a choice of antennas on the installed units?

A. Rover Trailer Tracking and Explorer Asset Tracking units come only with integrated antennas, as they are designed to be self contained for simple installation. Ranger CT tracking units for commercial vehicle tracking are available with fully integrated antennas or external antennas -your choice. Please note that integrated antennas are recommended for a covert installation. For commercial applications, if you are more concerned with raw performance than hiding the unit, we recommend external antennas on Ranger CT. You may choose from a glass mount antenna or a low profile, roof mount, hard hat style antenna. Please note, the roof mount version requires a 3/4 inch hole to be drilled in the roof:)

Q. Is there an extra cost if I order external antennas with my Ranger CT units?

A. No, we provide these at no extra cost and there is no price difference between the Ranger CT with integrated antennas or external antennas.
